HOMEMADE GINGERBREAD PLAYDOUGH RECIPE

Play Dough has always been one of my kids favorite activities. I LOVE Play Dough almost as much as my kids do…especially my favorite Homemade Play Dough Recipe. Its the best play dough recipe I have ever tried…and I have tried a lot. This play dough is soft but never sticky and lasts for months. It is pretty easy to make and this play dough has a great texture and consistency and smells amazing because of the spices you use in it. This is the same recipe my mom made with us when we were growing up.

HOW TO MAKE A GINGERBREAD PLAYDOUGH GIFT KIT

I also thought it would be fun to put a little twist on this and turn it into a fun gift idea for pre-schoolers, toddlers…basically kids of all ages for Christmas. In the past we have given away Playdough that has already been made to some of the kids friends, like this Peppermint Play Dough or this Pumpkin Spice Play Dough.

How fun would it be to give someone a jar of “Homemade Playdough” that they can make with their own family?

I simply filled the jar with all the dry ingredients (leaving out the water and the oil). Then I printed out these fun labels and attached them to the jar. Then I attached a little Gingerbread Cookie Cutter to go along with the gift. I LOVE that this is a different and fun gift idea…and as far as I know…I haven’t seen this done yet with Play Dough!

You could also make up the playdough and then give it away already made in the jars. Either way, it’s a fun and inexpensive gift idea that allows children to use their creativity and imaginations!
