If the name sounds familiar, that’s because the café is a spin-off, brick-and-mortar materialisation of the Knock Knock livestream app, created to connect content creators with their fans and followers. In the same spirit, the café aims to be a space for productivity and connectivity, by offering good food and service in a work-friendly environment, complete with high-speed free wifi and modular rooms for business meetings to cater to the remote work nature of the current generation.

Start with Tacos

Get ready for tacos with a local twist!

Start with the Chilli Krab Tacos ($15 for 2pcs), deep-fried soft shell crab served with homemade chilli crab sauce and wrapped in toasted tortilla, for a familiar local flavour. Prawn fans will want to sink their teeth into the crispy prawn tempura in the Golden Prawn Tacos ($13 for 2pcs). Served in a soft toasted tortilla, the prawn is laced with an addictive salted egg sauce and finished with tobiko bits. For beef lovers, there is Beef Steak Tacos ($16 for 2pcs), where beef steak chunks are served with homemade peanut sauce on a soft toasted tortilla.

Proceed with Pasta

Tuck into pastas with East-meets-West flavours!

As its name suggests, the Just Like Grandma’s ‘Hae Bee Hiam’ Aglio Olio with Tiger Prawns ($17), loaded with umami-rich hae bee hiam (spicy dried shrimp) on aglio olio and topped with juicy tiger prawns with no corners cut will remind you of your grandma’s cooking.

Made for Carbonara lovers, the ‘Lup Cheong’ & Bacon Carbonara ($16) is a decadent dish featuring a sauce made with pecorino cheese and egg white, mixed with sweet Chinese sausage and bacon bits. It is topped with a perfect runny egg yolk for a creamy indulgence that doesn’t end.

A must for seafood lovers is the Umami ‘Laksa’ Seafood Pasta ($18), a spaghetti dish brimming with tiger prawns, clam mussels and squid tossed in a house-made spicy laksa coconut broth.

Mix things up with Mains

Savour Western staples with an Asian touch.

No ordinary fish burger, the Otak-Otak Burger ($17) is made with batang fish that has been marinated with a medley of aromatic spices including lemongrass, chillies, ginger, turmeric, shallots, garlic. The homemade fish patty is then coated with bread crumbs and deep-fried for a crispy golden exterior. Sandwiched between soft fluffy buns and served with fries and a sambal mayo dip, each bite is as rewarding as a spoonful of otak-otak.

The Ultimate Wagyu Beef Burger ($26) will have burger lovers swooning over its juicy grilled Australian wagyu beef patty (150g) tucked between pillowy buns, topped with a creamy pan-seared slice of foie gras and gooey melted cheddar cheese, and served with fries.

The Krispy Buttermilk Chicken Burger ($17), served with fries and a spicy Sriracha mayo dip, is all you need to satisfy your fried chicken cravings. Bite into a juicy piece of whole boneless chicken thigh that was steeped in a house-made buttermilk marinade, before being fried to crispy golden perfection.

Burgers aside, there’s also Mad for Mentaiko Fish & Chips ($16), a whole crispy fish fillet coated with a light Kronenborg beer batter before being deep-fried. Savour every bite with the creamy umami mentaiko sauce or dip your fries in it.

Drool over Dessert

Satisfy your sweet tooth with Knock Knock Café’s scrumptious desserts that are inspired by local flavours.

The light and airy Party with Pandan Pancakes ($12)* are flavoured with pandan, drizzled with golden gula melaka syrup and served with vanilla cream. A local take on the classic tiramisu, Ondeh Ondeh Tiramisu ($12) is layered with pandan and gula melaka, and topped with toasted coconut flakes. Perfect anytime of the day, the Crispy Banana Fritters with Ice Cream ($8) is served with a drizzle of caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
