Dallas Metro News - #DallasMetroNewsThe Austin Independent School District (AISD) is grappling with a tight deadline and limited resources as it races to comply with Texas' new House Bill 3, which mandates armed security personnel at every public school in the state starting September 1. To adapt to this legislative requirement, AISD has chosen a unique path, deploying its own specially-trained police officers across its 113 campuses. However, the district faces significant obstacles: its police force is understaffed by 83 officers, and current fiscal allocations from the state fall far short of the estimated $8 million needed for full compliance. Throwing a tantrum unless you always get what you want is for children (and leftists).The Vancouver Police school liaison officer programme was restored recently by a democratic process in which a majority viewpoint prevailed. That vote, and majority viewpoint, reflects the wishes of the majority of the stakeholders on the issue- wishes which can be clearly seen in the very report from Argyle that was commissioned into the issue. I've attached that report here https://lnkd.in/g-GBFJuk for your reading pleasure. In spite of the Argyle report's conclusions, which demonstrate a majority of respondents wishing to have the SLO programme continued, the SLO's were kicked out by a leftist school board anyways- which is a stunning lesson in democracy, accountability, and transparency in and of itself. The fix was in from the get-go. And the leftists were silent about it, because the end justified the means. The process gave them what they wanted, even when very few others- the people they are supposed to advocate for- wanted it. Now, the report findings are being properly applied in support of the SLO programme, and the leftists are furious. They are stamping their feet, taking their toys, and going home. And that's unfortunate, because, in spite of the fact that I disagree with almost everything they stand for, their voices do need to be heard, even when their wishes can't be actioned.
