What is a System Basis Chip (SBC)?
An SBC is an integrated component that combines common system features required on Automotive ECUs such as: communication transceivers, voltage regulators, diagnostics and supervision functions, switches and wake inputs.
Why to use a SBC?
Our highly integrated System-on-Chip solutions have various substantial benefits through advanced diagnosis features and minimized number of components.
Infineon System Basis Chips:
- Offers high integration and high performance at an optimized system cost for various automotive applications
- Extend battery life with very low quiescent current modes
- Improves the overall system reliability
- Reduced system cost through low component count and small PCB footprint (up to 80% smaller footprint)
- Enables design flexibility and reduces software design effort through shared state machine and SPI access
Infineon concept for Scalability with Compatibility
Emerging technologies in automotive make our lives easier and greener but increase complexity and costs. System Basis Chips (SBCs) from Infineon are facing these challenges by integrating power, diagnosis and supervision features in one single chip!
The SBCs family concept, enables multiple and flexible designs to reduce complexity and accelerate development cycles. Scaling from the Lite SBCto the Multi-CAN Power+ SBC, the product portfolio supports everything from entry-level automotive applications to complex control systems.
Watch the video above to understand how these devices help to save time and development costs in your project.
