Expedition Bigfoot: Season 3 | Rotten Tomatoes (2024)

Reviews 74% Audience Score Fewer than 50 Ratings Every year hundreds of eyewitnesses record alleged encounters with Bigfoot, a legendary cryptid described as being a large, hairy, bipedal apelike creature. More than a third of the sightings come from the Pacific Northwest. In Travel Channel's "Expedition Bigfoot," an elite team of researchers plugs the reported sightings into an advanced data algorithm to narrow its search for the elusive creature to an area in central Oregon. The eight-part series tracks the teams as it treks into the deep woods hoping to find evidence of the cryptid. "Travel Channel has assembled the very best team of experts in Bigfoot lore and science to give us proof of the creature's existence once and for all," said Matthew Butler, general manager, Travel Channel. "The journey is formidable, and the jeopardy is real. Skeptics and believers alike will both agree the trek this team makes is something they have never seen before." KA F I was very excited to start watching Expedition Bigfoot but once I saw Bryce Johnson was associated with Bob Gimlin, one of the persons who admittedly faked the Patterson–Gimlin film, I was too suspicious to continue watching the show. The filming and the scenery was very beautiful. Who knows… I just love this show. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/09/23 Full Review thomas l this is an absolute must see, all 3 seasons will keep you wondering. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review Linda H I Love this show!! I think it's fascinating and I do believe that the sounds and evidence they show us is real. I am sure that they have to splice things together and edit some things as it is TV after all but you have to really pay attention and things do make sense. Each season gets better and they improve on explaining what they are doing and why. I never thought that any of this kind of evidence could possibly be true but why not? Using scientific methods such as the thermal imaging equipment is amazing and it does show and explain a warm body versus a tree or rock etc. I was haunted by some of the thermal imagery in the forests and the vocalizations made by (who knows what) after the team would play recorded (Sasquatch) calls. Really spooky stuff. I can't wait for another season. I've watched the other Bigfoot type shows and they are pretty awful compared to this one. I like that they show interviews with well known Bigfoot witnesses such as Ron Morehead who recorded what has been known as the Sierra Sounds. A fascinating recording they made high up in the Sierra Mountains in California in the 1970's where you can hear this bizarre chattering between Bigfoots supposedly. I love the main characters and they do a good job working together as a team. Give it a try and you might just really like it.Update: After watching Season 4 I am torn as to whether this was the best season but I think for valid reasons it is. Season 4 has only 8 episodes for some reason. I feel the producers changed things for Season 4. It has way too many commercials. I was very happy to meet Ronny Leblanc and he is fascinating to listen to. I really hope the show continues. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/06/23 Full Review John S I'm gonna begin this by stating that, objectively, I do personally believe that there may be an undiscovered large primate in the wilds of North America. I think it is entirely possible. Have I had any experiences? No. Do I have irrefutable proof? No. I just find it to be an intriguing and plausible notion based on my own take on the potential evidence provided. That said... I think honestly the biggest problem with this series isn't the hokey editing, it isn't the fact that the post team insists on putting in "suspenseful" musical cues at high volume when other similar series turn the music down or, y'know, OFF so we can actually hear what they've purportedly caught as evidence, it isn't in the "shock value" edits they make it the sensationalism with which they treat every potential discovery. Nope, it lies entirely with how much Mirena Mayor's "Main Character Syndrome" derails the show. Look, I get that she brings a wealth of academic credentials onboard... I just feel like she really forgets that this isn't "her" show. I'm partway into season 2 and the way she feels like she can just dictate to the other team members and chastise therm for their actions freely as though she's the boss when she's sitting there in the middle of the wilderness like she gets to lecture her colleagues with her manicures and perfectly coiffed hair and overdone plastic surgery about how field expeditions should be done... And look, I get that that she has massive qualifications, and has spent an extraordinary amount of time in the bush in Africa and South America. I respect that. She just doesn't act like a serious academic. She acts like she thinks it's the Mirena Mayor Show, and it gets a bit obnoxious at times. Also, the number of times she seems absolutely clueless as to even hazarding a guess how an unknown primate that may be genetically linked to an extant, thoroughly researched one, might behave, is just mind boggling. They'd have done better with no Mirena and maybe every couple of episodes consulting with Jeffrey Meldrum or someone of his ilk, or just getting her to tone it down a bit. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/01/22 Full Review Audience Member A step up from Ozark crazy men looking for monsters. First season was interesting enough to set me up for season 2. Unfortunately it was getting worse. Season 3 is such a joke that Dr. Mayor should bow out now, before her career is totally destroyed (remember Geraldo Rivera). Whoever directs this pile of scat, wants us to believe these people walk around in the dark with bears, mountain lions, and who knows what, stalking them with 1 camera? They must have their hands full filming from behind, from above and from far away in pitch black? This Russ character is a jewel! If I was following him around, well let's just say that he'd hear a wood knock across his head!!! Going into a tunnel built god knows when, scraping the sides and ceiling with that backpack of his that we assume he only carries the bare necessities but looks like he has a months full of clothes, food, tent, stove, and recliner packed inside. No season 4...... Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
